WILCO ANNOUNCE SPRING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN SUPPORT OF CRUEL COUNTRY

St. Augustine, FL (January 17, 2023) – This Friday, January 20 sees the LP and CD release of Wilco’s 12th album,  Cruel Country, deemed one of the best of 2022 by The New York Times, NPR Music, Rolling Stone, Variety,  Stereogum, Aquarium Drunkard, and more. Today, the band announces its Spring 2023 North American tour in  continued support of that album. The band will visit cities all over the south east not yet visited in support of the  album, including a stop at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Wednesday, April 19. The A’s will join the band  as special guest in St. Augustine.

Tickets to see Wilco at The Amp go on sale this Friday, January 20 at 10am online at Ticketmaster.com and at  the venue box office.

This past fall, Wilco announced a surprise pop-up show, which quickly turned into three, at Chicago's Famous  Late-Night Honky Tonk, Carol's Pub. Today, the band offers a peek into what a special evening this was in  celebration of Cruel Country with film clips of their performances that night of "A Story To Tell," "I Am My  Mother," "Cruel Country" and "Falling Apart (Right Now)."

Praise for Cruel Country:

"Cruel Country [is] an immensely rich 21-track, roughly 80-minute deep dive into America that is a raw and  engaging take on our tumultuous times” - Associated Press

"Wilco conjures a sense of majesty that feels like a rustic spin of their full-flight experimentations” - Pitchfork

“Cruel Country is more of the same big-hearted, humanistic rock that Wilco does best, a generous double-album  offering in the tradition of 2007’s Sky Blue Sky and 2016’s Schmilco… there’s nothing cruel at all about a treat  like this." - Rolling Stone, 100 Best Albums of 2022

“an Understated Magnum Opus” - The New York Times, Critic’s Pick

“With Wilco picking and strumming like a string band, Jeff Tweedy spins a free-associative fable about elemental  forces of life and death, leading into a brief but probing jam that reunites country and psychedelia.”  - The New York Times, “Bird Without a Tail/Base of My Skull” in Best Songs of 2022

“Tweedy’s best collection of lyrics to date. In terms of writing, arrangement, and performance, it’s a masterful  display of subtlety.” - Stereogum

“Cruel Country is so expansive that it transcends the good vs. evil binary thinking that dominates both sides of  the political spectrum, allowing instead for the reality of what this country actually is.” - Uproxx
