The inaugural Super Girl Surf Pro Contest & Festival comes to Jacksonville Beach Nov. 11-14, 2021. The schedule for the event, a celebration of female strength and empowerment, is jam-packed with a World Surf League (WSL) competition, concerts from major recording artists, a festival village, women’s beach volleyball, beach soccer and skateboarding competitions, free classes, speakers, video games, female DJ competitions and more. This is the first women’s professional surfing competition of its caliber to come to Northeast Florida.

The Plain White T’s, Hoobastank, John K and The Expendables headline the free concerts performing on Saturday and Sunday, November 13 and 14. Live music is featured throughout the event with concerts beginning on Saturday at noon with local artist HelloCeila and continuing through the festival’s close at 10 p.m. The Expendables, fresh off a national tour, headline the Saturday evening show with pop-stars John K and Kira Kosarin playing in the headline-support slots. In addition, an incredible DJ competition with six top female DJ’s from around the country will light up the SeaWalk Pavilion stage.

Sunday has another great line-up that concludes with national recording artists, the Plain White T’s and Hoobastank, and features local rock bands Annie Dukes, The Band Be Easy and many others. Hoobastank, with their smash hit “The Reason”, and The Plain White T’s, with their multi-platinum song “Delilah”, have not performed in Jacksonville for many years and are sure to electrify the crowd with their well-known library of songs. There will be a total of twelve free concerts across the two days featuring the sounds of singer-songwriters, rock, reggae and pop to entertain festival goers.

Competitors in the WSL event include a field of recognizable, decorated women surfing competitors from around the world, including several from the host city of Jacksonville Beach. The Super Girl Surf Pro draws surfers like 5X World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Carissa Moore and her USA Olympic teammate and Florida native, Caroline Marks, along with former Super Girl champion Sage Erickson.  Moore will also lead the Moore Aloha Mentorship Program on Nov. 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Her charitable foundation, Moore Aloha, will host 24 young women for a mentorship program where girls ages 10-16 will spend an incredible day surfing and learning from Moore and other top pros.

Round 1 of the WSL competition begins on Friday, November 12, where 64 top women surfers from around the world take to the waters from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Saturday, starting at 8 a.m., the second round of surfers will compete. The final day of competition takes place Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.  One woman will receive top honors and the iconic Super Girl cape.

While the surfers compete in the water, on the sand there will be both women’s beach volleyball and women’s beach soccer tournaments. Event organizers are partnering with Sports Edge, a Jacksonville training group, to run the volleyball tournaments. There are Open, AA, 18U and 14U volleyball competitions on Saturday and Sunday. The soccer competition, powered by Prime Sports, is also held on Saturday and Sunday, and features 10U, 12U, 14U and High School divisions.  The festival village will feature a women’s skateboarding competition in both Pro / Advanced and Intermediate divisions.
