St. Nicholas Apartment District

Are you looking for an area to move to that is a convenient location and has a sense of community? Check out the St. Nicholas Apartment District. It is near the St. Nicholas Town Center and St. Nicholas playground.

St. Nicholas Playground

St. Nicholas Playground is located next to Spring Park Elementary school. The park features a track that goes around a field. They have a baseball field that is popular for their residents. The playground is a good place to bring your family and enjoy your day.

The McIver Residence

The area of St. Nicholas corresponds to Spanish land grant to Francis Bagley and was then passed to his widow, Anna Hogans. In 1839 the property was divided into five lots. Their five grandchildren inherited the second lot of the property. Four houses remain today. McIver Residence reflects the Tudor Revival style. It has three stories and a circular staircase.

1117 Palmer Terrace

1117 Palmer Terrace is a blend of styles. We see the asymmetrical massing which is Queen Anne style. We also see the portico with columns that reflect the Colonial Revival Style. The house was finished in 1886 and features eight fireplaces. One of them has a mantel of solid iron. They also have a music room with a stage.

1210 Palmer Terrace

The property was inherited by the Palmer’s oldest granddaughter, Augusta Holmes. This house was constructed in 1888.

1230 Palmer Terrace

In 1887 Rhydon Mays Call and Ida Holmes got married which brought together two prominent families. Ida Holmes was a descendant of David Palmer. After getting married they moved into this one and a half story house. It features a full veranda, ornamental wooden shingles, and three dormers.
