Freedom From Cancer Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Local Families Battling Cancer

The Freedom From Cancer charity golf tournament, dinner and live auction is back for it's 3rd year at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida on August 20th. This year, the event will benefit Chemo Noir, a Jacksonville organization dedicated to supporting local fighters and families battling cancer.

The #JaxFam was inspired to start the Freedom From Cancer event 3 years ago after Joe Stetzer received a call about results from a normal yearly blood test, on Christmas Eve 2019. He needed to be admitted immediately to Mayo Clinic as his doctors were very concerned about his blood test results. Over the next 10 months, Leukemia tried its best to slow him down, but Joe is #StetzerStrong and is currently in remission after undergoing an aggressive treatment plan.

While Joe was fighting this battle with the support of his incredible wife, the Jax Fam got together to start a fundraising effort to raise money and offset medical bills given that Joe would be out of work while undergoing his treatment.

They held their first golf tournament in 2020 and raised more than their goal for Joe through player / spectator tickets and silent auction made possible by local business donations.

Thanks to the huge success, it was decided that the fundraiser will be a yearly event and each year we will sponsor a special guest from the Jacksonville area who is battling their own C battle and who can be financially impacted immediately with our fundraising efforts.

Gather your foursome for an 18 hole scramble at the prestigious King & Bear Golf Course in St. Augustine. Prizes awarded to top team, longest drive, closest to the pin, and more! Each golf ticket includes all green fees, dinner, beverage, and auction.

Golf not really your thing? Purchase a spectator ticket and enjoy dinner and the auction after the tournament for your chance to walk away with items donated by local and national businesses. Enjoy a themed dinner and beverages courtesy of the King & Bear.
