In honor of Giving Tuesday, 904 Happy Hour and The Wagoner Foundation announced today that over $100,000 was raised for Jacksonville nonprofits as a result of the 2022 Jacksonville Taco and Tequila Festival.

The event took place September 24th & 25th in Riverside Park next to Historic 5 Points. Thousands attended the 2nd annual event which featured Mexican cuisine from over 20 restaurants and food trucks, as well as tequila stations, craft margaritas, local makers, games, live music, and more!

The festival was a major fundraiser for several local Jacksonville nonprofits benefiting the arts, youth, community enrichment and education here on the First Coast. The success of the event allowed the Wagoner Foundation to donate over $100,000 to charities including $30,000 to Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Florida.

“Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida is proud to partner with 904 Happy Hour and The Wagoner Foundation to create great futures for kids and teens across Northeast Florida. Through their recent successful event, they generously donated $30,000 to further our mission in Duval, St. Johns, Alachua and Clay counties. These vital funds will ensure that young people graduate on time with a plan for their future, lead healthy lifestyles and demonstrate good character and leadership,” said Paul Martinez, President and CEO, Boy & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida.

Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida was also awarded $30,000 which will grant the wishes of several children in our community.

“Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida is forever grateful for the support that 904 Happy Hour has given through this donation from the Jacksonville Taco & Tequila Festival. This donation is going to make a huge difference in the lives of our local Wish children with critical illnesses. Thank you will never be enough!” Said Kiersan Cue, Development Specialist, Make-A-Wish Central & Northern Florida.

Additional funds were donated to The Daily's Foundation, Chemo Noir, Don’t Miss a Beat, MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation, The Community Nutcracker, First Tee - North Florida, The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida, and the Jacksonville Historical Society. The Foundation is looking to continue to grow the funds given to the local community in the coming years.

Organizers shared that the festival will be making a return in 2023 to Jacksonville so stay tuned to @904happyour and @jaxtacotequilafest social media outlets for more details.
