Expedition: Dinosaur, Rise of the Mammals opens at MOSH on May 12
Turn back the clock to the Cretaceous Period, 66 million years ago, when dinosaurs ruled the earth

Jacksonville, Fla. — May 09, 2023 –– The Museum of Science & History (MOSH) today announced its newest traveling exhibition, Expedition: Dinosaur, Rise of the Mammals®, will open to the public on Friday, May 12 — offering visitors the opportunity to walk among jaw-dropping, life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, including the T-Rex, Torosaurus and Ankylosaurus.

The exhibition turns the clock back to the Cretaceous Period, 66 million years ago, when dinosaurs ruled the Earth and explains how mammals evolved to become the dominant species after the downfall of the dinosaur era. Visitors will have the opportunity to stand face-to-face with life-sized dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals, have their picture taken in the jaws of a T-Rex and study fossils that are as many as 300 million years old. Young paleontologists-in-training will hone their budding archeology skills by extracting dinosaur bones from a fossil dig pit.

Expedition: Dinosaur, Rise of the Mammals combines life-size and lifelike animatronic dinosaurs and mammals with realistic movements and sound, presented with fascinating educational, interactive experiences, allowing all guests to explore the exciting and ever-changing history of the Cretaceous period.

“This new exhibition invites MOSH visitors to discover a new side of a story many think they know,” said Bruce Fafard, CEO of MOSH. “The myths and legends of dinosaurs are abundant, but there is always more to learn. Expedition: Dinosaur takes visitors back to the time when dinosaurs ruled the planet, inspiring audiences of all ages. We look forward to sharing this one-of-a-kind exhibit with our community this summer.”

Expedition: Dinosaur, Rise of the Mammals runs from May 12 through September 10. Admission to the traveling exhibition is included in the price of general admission ($19.95 for adults, $16.95 for youth, students active and retired military and seniors). Admission is free for children ages 2 and under, and MOSH Members.

Expedition: Dinosaur, Rise of the Mammals was created by Stage Nine Exhibits and is distributed by Exhibits Development Group.

“We are proud to partner with MOSH to bring to life this fascinating look at the fall of such a dominant species,” said Troy Carlson, Owner of Stage Nine Exhibits. “Dinosaurs still carry mystery and questions, and this exhibition helps to bring answers to the viewer of the time they reigned, as well as a close-up examination of the reign of humans.”
