Moline, IL - The Sharks almost let this game get away from them.  After a big lead turned into tightly contested game that came down to a late clutch 4th down conversion, the Jacksonville Sharks defeated the Quad City Steamwheelers by a final score of 39-38 on Sunday. With the win, the Sharks improve to 3-1 on the season, snapping the Steamwheelers unbeaten run at home.

The difference maker was turnovers, Jacksonville forced two interceptions to go along with 38 total tackles. Offensively, the Sharks totaled 190 yards, taking advantage of the great positioning that the defensive and special teams unit gave them. Strong passing play from QB James Cahoon led the Sharks on offense with smart reads and clutch throws to keep drives alive.

It was a tough night for the Jacksonville defense as Quad City outgained the Sharks on offense, totaling 237 yards and averaging 5.5 yards per offensive snap. They also were efficient in 4th down scenarios converting all four of their last chance opportunities to keep drives alive.

But the Sharks made the plays when they had to and escaped with a tough road win.
