El Galeon - A 16th century replica galleon is in St. Augustine
The 495-ton 16th-century replica wooden ship El Galeón is dock at the St. Augustine Municipal Marina next to her a sister ship, the Nao Victoria. It is the first time the two ships have ever docked in the same port in North America. While in port, the 170 foot, 495 ton authentic wooden replica of a galleon that was part of Spain’s West Indies fleet will be open for public visits. The ship will be part of the 450th anniversary of the founding of St. Augustine in 2015. Both El Galeón and its sister ship Nao Victoria represent the city’s cultural heritage with Spain and is worth a visit. The Nao Victoria is a replica of the first ship to successfully circumnavigate the world. El Galeón is a replica of the vessels that traveled the coasts of Florida between the 16th and 18th centuries creating ties between America and Europe. While in port, the ship will be open to public offering visitors the chance to learn about the maritime history that began centuries ago when galleons like the El Galeón reached Florida’s coast. Robert Cray Band To Perform At The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL--(Monday, February 3, 2014) — Blues guitarist and five-time GRAMMY award winning artist Robert Cray Band will perform at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on Friday, April 4 at 8:00PM.
The five-time Grammy Award winner summarized 35 years of mastery on the debut Nozzle release Live From Across the Pond (2006), an electrifying two-CD concert set drawn from a series of shows (opening for Eric Clapton) at London’s Royal Albert Hall. When the time came to follow up that widely praised collection with a studio recording, Cray viewed it as an opportunity to move his sound in other directions.
He found exactly what he was looking for by turning to one of his oldest friends and colleagues: bassist Richard Cousins, whose tenure with the Robert Cray Band began with its barnstorming regional origins in Eugene, Oregon, in 1974 and extended through 1991, encompassing such early high-water marks as Strong Persuader (1986) and Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (1988), both winners of the best contemporary blues performance Grammy.
I’ve known Richard for 40 years,” Cray says. “We go back to 1969, and we grew up in the same area together. We’ve always had a really good rapport together stage... [Read More]

Super Bowl XLV III Game Day Predictions
The 2013 NFL season will conclude tonight with one of the biggest events in the entire world, Super Bowl XLV III. Finally, the two weeks of talk and fluff will end and will finally see if this game will live up to the hype. Out of the AFC, the Denver Broncos (13-3) and the #1 offense in the league will play against the NFC champion Seattle Seahawks (13-3) and their number #1 ranked defense. Six times we’ve seen two #1 teams match up like this in the title game and 5 out of 6 times, the team with the #1 defense wins the game. Will that be the case tonight?
Let’s look at the Broncos. The Broncos have weapons all over that offense, starting with the best quarterback I’ve ever seen in my life, Peyton Manning. Demaryious Thomas, Julius Thomas, Wes Welker, Knowshon Moreno, and Eric Decker are going to give the Seahawks secondary fits as it’s going to be a tough task to cover them all. Also, the Bronco’s defense has been playing very well during the playoffs with the play of defensive tackle (and former Jacksonville Jaguar) Terrance Knighton, who has been a nightmare stopping the run and creating interior pressure on pass rush plays.
Moving on to the Seahawks. We are all well aware of how good and how fast ... [Read More]
