St. Augustine, Fla. (November 10, 2014) – Multi-platinum and Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Sarah McLachlan announced today that she will kick off the second leg of her North America “Shine On Tour” on February 27th in San Antonio, TX. The 24-city trek will visit major venues and cities across the country including a stop at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, November 21 at 10a.m.
McLachlan's unparalleled ability to craft finely tuned lyrics has led to an enduring career as one of the most beloved artists of the past two decades. She is one of the most celebrated singer/songwriters in entertainment with over 40 million albums sold worldwide. She is an eight-time Juno Award winner and a three-time Grammy Award winner. McLachlan’s landmark fifth album, the 10x-platinum Surfacing, contained two Grammy Award-winning tracks: “Building a Mystery” and “Last Dance”. In addition to her personal artistic efforts, McLachlan founded the Lilith Fair tour showcasing female musicians which raised over $7 million for local and national charities over its three years and in 2002 founded her non-profit organization the Sarah McLachlan School of Music. The school provides free afterschool music education for at-risk and underserved kids who otherwise would have no access to music programming.
McLachlan’s latest album Shine On was released earlier this year and explores her personal journey over the last three years navigating love, loss and change. Shine On celebrates the human ability to grow from our experiences, thrive and shine on. The New York Times said "her songs materialize in grand resonant spaces” and People Magazine said McLachlan “still sounds like an angel.” Verve Records will put out a remix of “Monsters” which the Boston Globe calls “one of the album’s best songs.” “Monsters” will be available on iTunes on November 17.
McLachlan’s “Shine On Tour”, which launched last June, has visited over 40 cities in North America to widespread critical acclaim. The Orange County Register described her performance at The Greek in Los Angeles as “a captivating 2 1/2-hour set” while The Vancouver Sun called McLachlan “breathtaking.”
