If you were on the Russian Olympic team and you were a medalist at the Sochi Games, you're in the money. The medal winners are given cash and a new Mercedes.

All of the Gold medalists in the Sochi Olympics were given $120,000 plus a brand new Mercedes GL SUV. The Silver medalists got $76,000 and a Mercedes ML, and the bronze medalists got $52,000 and a Mercedes GLK.

A total of 45 cars were distributed to the Olympic medalists. Russia won a Sochi-leading total of 33 medals, including 13 golds. The Russian athletes who won medals in the 2012 London Games received Audis instead of Mercedes.

For comparison's sake, The United States Olympians who medaled received $25,000 for a gold, $15,000 for a silver and $10,000 for a bronze. The money won by the United States medalists is then taxed by the IRS. Go Figure!
