As Hurricane Irma is tracking its way through the Atlantic Ocean with a projected weekend landfall in Florida, many schools are adjusting their Week 2 college schedules to allow fans and students to prepare for the storm. Some of the changed times and dates are listed below

The Hurricanes' road game at Arkansas State has been canceled with no plans to make up the contest as the teams do not share an off week later in the season. The University of Miami has canceled classes for the rest of the week and Mark Richt has released his players to seek safety from the storm.

The home opener for Florida International against Alcorn State has been postponed indefinitely. School officials are looking into alternate options, but announced the game will not be held on Saturday as scheduled.

The Florida State Seminoles have moved the kickoff time for the Seminoles' home opener against Louisiana- Monroe from 7 p.m. ET to 12:15 p.m. ET on Saturday.

The Central Florida Knights will still play Memphis this weekend, but the game has been moved from Saturday to Friday night at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The Florida Gators have moved up their scheduled kickoff against Northern Colorado from 7:30 p.m. ET to noon ET.

Athletics Director Scott Stricklin said. “We have worked closely with campus and regional authorities over the last 48 hours to find the best possible solution that allows us to play the game and takes into account the safety of our fans, players, staff and personnel working the game.""With tropical conditions possibly expected in our region on Saturday night or Sunday morning, moving the game from 7:30 to Noon will give people a chance to come to the game and return home before any expected weather or effects hit our area."

The South Florida Bulls play this weekend at UConn in their conference opener and have not announced any changes to the schedule.

The Florida Atlantic road game at Wisconsin will still be played Saturday at noon ET.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins game on Sunday has been postponed and pushed to the Week 11 bye week that both teams share. The game will be played at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Nov. 19
