Celebrate the start of Hope at Hand’s 4th Annual Jax Poetry Fest in Downtown Jacksonville. Enjoy live poetry readings and performances in Hemming Park and in the Main Library throughout the night.

Headquarters In Hemming Park - Join us at the Main Stage for an open-mic poetry session from 6:15-7:15 p.m. Then stick around for poetry by Ebony Payne-English and others from 7:15-8:15 p.m.

Browse artwork by ABDUL, Artzy Fartzy Petz, The Bead Bowl, Kram Kan Photo, Moonchild Studio, Viktor Lazarev, The Dynasty 11, Jumping Jackalopes, Tovah 2 Creations and more. And don’t miss these vendors and non-profit organizations: Year Up, VyStar, the Florida Theatre, the City of Jacksonville Animal Care & Protective Services and more. Plus, stop by the Friends of Hemming Park tent for refreshments and concessions, swag and to learn more about upcoming events in Jacksonville's most historic public space.

Kid Zone @ Hemming Park - Bring the kids to participate in PNC’s Mobile Learning Experience, activities by My Gym and jump-roping by Jump 4 Jax.

 

ART & CULTURE HIGHLIGHTS

Jacksonville Main Library - Jax Poetry Fest takes off with poetry performances from Ebony Payne-English, Moses West, Tonya Smart, Love Reigns and Ahynte Heard from 6-7 p.m. Then enjoy The Lyricist Live with Mal Jones from 7-8 p.m.

Southlight Gallery - View a solo exhibition by Brook Ramsey, Structured Identity by Ronald Gibbons and Lamelliforms by David Engdahl on display in the second-floor gallery. And stop by the ground-floor gallery for works by artists such as Anna Miller and Thomas Hager.

 

BUSINESS HIGHLIGHTS

Chamblin’s Uptown - Browse works from local artists and enjoy a cup of coffee or a good book when you visit.

Dance Trance - Visit the 2nd floor location inside Anytime Fitness and try out a Dance Trance class from 6-7 p.m.

Hollywood Cuts - Check out local rappers at The Lyricist Live, an open-mic street cypher from 5-10 p.m.
