At the Walt Disney Company’s annual shareholders meeting, it was disclosed that their Disney Cruise Lines will add three new ships to their current fleet.

The three newest vessels will set sail in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and will be approximately 140,000 gross tons – slightly larger than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. The new vessels will have approximately 1,250 guest staterooms.

In keeping with the distinct Disney Cruise Line style, the new ships will embody the elegance and romance of the golden age of ocean cruising with unique touches all their own. The three new vessels will offer more innovation, new technologies, spectacular entertainment and more Disney stories and characters than ever before. Ingenuity and innovation from stem to stern will amaze and delight Disney Cruise Line guests of all ages.

The new vessels will bring Disney’s iconic stories and franchises to life in thrilling and surprising ways, building on the creativity they have introduced across their existing fleet.  Over the past years , they have added innovations such as Marvel and Star Wars themed spaces to their kids’ clubs.  They have also added new dining experiences combining live entertainment, storytelling and interactive moments at their Tiana’s Place and Rapunzel’s Royal Table restaurants.

Disney also said that these new vessels will be powered by one of the cleanest-burning fuels available, liquefied natural gas, or LNG.
